This One Thing Will Get You 7x More Sales From Email

Would you like to know how you can 7x your sales from email with one simple tactic?

We call it “intent follow-up”.

This is really just a fancy pants way of saying “send people different emails based on the action they take (or don’t!).”

Here are three really simple tips that can totally change the game for you:

TIP 1

Follow up with people that start to order, but don’t finish.

In the industry, these people are known as “cart abandonments”.

You may not be aware that it’s completely normal for more than half of the people who ‘start’ to order to just change their minds and leave before completing.

Scary thought, right?

But, rather than writing these people off, they are actually the hottest prospects you have.

Too many businesses miss out on easy sales here…

With a simple automated email campaign, you can turn them into sales by sending them a series of emails, over the course of a few hours, right after they abandon the cart.

However, here’s the trick. You’ve got to do more than just tell them to go back and finish their order. That’s not going to cut it!

You need to incentivise them. Offer a surprise bonus, free shipping, or both. A little creativity around your follow-up offer will win you sales…fact.

And… if you really want to make this fly - give them a deadline to claim this offer.  Don’t fake it… give them a genuine deadline after which the page or coupon expires.

This one simple tweak to your checkout process will bring in extra sales for just about any business.

TIP 2

Another intention that can be valuable to you is readers who open your email but don’t click.

It’s fair to assume that they’re interested in what you’ve got because they read your email.

So, why didn’t they click?

Well, more often than not it’s either because they were distracted, or didn’t feel they had time right there and then.

These days a majority of people read their emails on their phones. Often while queuing, commuting or, believe it or not, whilst on the toilet! (yep… you’ve just read that right!)

So, when you can identify everyone who opens your email, but doesn’t click the link immediately, you can plan to send them a series of follow-up messages that drive them to your desired outcome.

The fortune really is in the follow-up… the sad fact is most businesses give up rather than follow up!

TIP 3

Finally, we have the people who click the link in your email, and visit your sales page but don't buy.

These people are usually very interested but don't buy because they (like most of us) procrastinate!

The best way to encourage these people to take action is by sending them a follow-up series which offers a bonus if they purchase now. Similar to your cart abandonment group.

And as before, if you want to make it work really well, give them a deadline so if they don’t order in time, the special bonus goes away.

We hope this has given you some insights and got you thinking about your emails and follow-up processes.
